Since there were no posts here and since Wisconsin is an atypical place to do clinicals, I looked up Mercy Hospital on the ACGME.

Mercy has no medical school affiliations but does offer ACGME residencies in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.

Does that mean only Family Medicine core can be done there? Or others as well like IM and Peds?

Has anyone done rotations here? I just got accepted to Ross and my in-laws are asking about rotations that I might do in their area. Anyway......

    ??

Does anyone know anything at all about this site, or know anyone who is rotating there? I am interested in starting there in August but I haven't been able to find out any information besides being able to complete all rotations there.

Since I'm a spouse, I don't have all of the inside, but we are currently in Janesville doing rotations. The students here enjoy it, and I've heard no complaints from my husband (yet). As to coming in August, good luck. I'm not sure if the program is going to accept many more students for awhile. They are pretty saturated since the program is very small. Apply and hope for the best!

And if you are looking for a swinging night life....look somewhere else. I would say that families would most benefit from being here.

If you seek night life, the place to go is Milwaukee...It's a Great Place on a Great Lake. It is the "City of Festivals"...right now it's Summer Fest:

The 20 major festivals we have can be found at:

But, if you like corn fields and cows....Janesvilles the place to be.

Plenty of "cow tipping" opportunities too....

I found out they are accepting students for early November. They want a CV, step scores, transcripts, etc. How competitive a site is it?

This is completely a guess on my part, but I'm guessing that they will probably accept 1 maybe 2 students in November. I don't know how big the application pool will be either. So, it could go either way--competitive or not competitive.

I don't know how many Ross students really know about this place anyway. Or how many want to come once they find out that they will be one on one with their attendings and you're not guaranteed an A on every rotation. You actually learn and work for you grades here, it's not just show up and get an A.
