Ross University School of Medicine Expands Clinical Rotations in New York

    Advertisements

Ross University is pleased to announce that the School of Medicine has entered into a clinical affiliation agreement with Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (JHMC) to provide students with clinical instruction and several new core and elective rotations.

Part of the MediSys Health Network, JHMC is a 431-bed, fully accredited community teaching hospital with a large network of community-based ambulatory care centers that has become a location of choice for some of the nationís finest medical training programs.

"The agreement will ensure that Ross students receive education and clinical training in the core rotations of obstetrics & gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery and internal medicine and in a number of high-quality elective rotations, all under the supervision of Jamaica Hospitalís clinical teaching faculty whose outstanding reputation is well-established. Ross students will be provided with a level of instruction that is superior in every respect," said senior associate dean for clinical sciences at Ross University School of Medicine.

Combined, the four hospitals within the MediSys Health Network treat over 250,000 Emergency Department patients each year. The network boasts two level-one trauma centers, three nursing homes, three rehabilitation centers, a state-of-the-art Traumatic Brain Injury Unit, and a team of world-renowned neurosurgeons.

Ross University offers more clinical rotations in the United States than any other medical school in the world. Aside from JHMC, Ross Universityís additional clinical training sites in New York include, but are not limited to, Maimonides Medical Center, New York Downtown Hospital and New York Methodist Hospital.

But how many spots? That's probably the most important piece of information.
