So is there any advantage to this "new" rotation?

Does anyone know where to report on day 1? Somebody mentioned 3 weeks at Jackson Park and 3 weeks in Park Ridge. Anybody know which one is first? I'm trying to decide where to live, and how to commute between the 2 locations. Any info on this rotation would be helpful.

    housing for grove

Seeing how half this rotation is in Buffalo Grove and the other three weeks are at Jackson Park, where is good to live? I'm thinking about living near UIC, does this make sense? Also, does anyone know if Buffalo Grove is the first three weeks or the JPH part?

How is it certified because the eval comes from Jackson Park? JPH has NO residency program in Pediatrics. In fact it only has a single "residency" for Family medicine.

This rotation is at best approved under the FP umbrella, but it's not an ACGME approved core.

    Did this rotation in 2007

    To all who care,

I did this rotation in 2007. Overall, it was pretty good experience. At that time, the attending at Grove Park Pediatrics had just become affiliated with Jackson Park. We did 3 weeks of clinic (shadowing at Grove Pediatrics) and 3 weeks in neonatal at Jackson Park. The overall evaluation came from Jackson Park as a combined grade from both sites. Apparently, since Jackson Park does not have a Pediatrics residency program, the rotation goes on your transcript as "Family Practice - Pediatrics". This was not an issue towards my match process in 2008. At the time, I was told that this could possible be an issue for licensure in Texas, but am not sure if this was/is still true.

    Where to Live?

I'm scheduled to start this rotation in a couple of weeks, and have absolute zero knowledge of the area, so I would appreciate if someone could give me specific suggestions as to where to live, i.e. town, or neighborhood, etc. Thanks

Also any recent feedback on this rotation?
I hear it's kinda of crappy rotation, any truth to that?
I'm also very concerned about being under family and not an ACGME peds specialty, so much so, that I'm considering dropping it and taking peds after the step.

    Any suggestions?

Sorry, can't help you. Why don't you start a new thread with your question? You might get a better response.

    All the best.
