    Student life in Ovidius Constanta

    Advertisements

This thread is only for students that are already attending Ovidius University.

There are a lot of information listed on the internet but I really want to hear real students sharing their thoughts on Ovidius University of medicine. I specifically wanna know all about the student life in Ovidius, what does the campus life offer? what kind of activities/sports can you practice? As a student how do you find life in Constanta? Apart from the tuition fees, are there other educational costs, like on books etc? And is it better to live in a facility on campus, or should I get my own place?

It is also said on web sites, that the hospital in Constanta is one of the biggest in Europe, but how is the training? And by what year do you really need to speak Romanian in order to communicate with patients?

I apologize for the number of questions, but any help or information would be really appreciated..

oK. I will answer your questions to the best of my ability.
to be truthful, the campus life does not offer much that is because the sports center is still under construction. you need not to worry about that, if you are a fitness freak you can always get a gym around mamaia. Life in constanta is a bit lonely. I know that is not what you want to hear, but that is the truth. but there are lots of clubs you can go to, megalose, cruch wish......mention them. If you are out going, you will more likely have fun. Life in constanta can also be fun! great beach, wonderful apartments. If you are going to have a room mate, I would advice you stay with someone not from your country as this would help you keep your respect in the long run ( this was what my seniors told me when I first came) and it was very useful for me. I had a wonderful first year because my room mate was in 4th year. She was from a different continent, she was able to give me some of her books and we lived peacefully. I would advice you do the same if you don't have a family member in the school
About the books, buy gray's anatomy and necter atlas, this are the two most important books, the lecturers usually sends slides to a specified email.
It is far better to live in an apartment, if you share a house with someone, you can pay 100euros a month and the bills will not exceed 50 euros. it is more comfortable, and you have your privacy. If you are a girl, you can send me a private message, I would be going to constanta on the 27th and I need a flat mate too, we can go house hunting together! if you want, you can also stay lone but it is more expensive (180-200) with out bills. But as a first year student it is not really advisable you stay alone, but then and again, its your choice!
I dont know of the hospital but it is not that nice but its okay. you need not worry about the hospital now if you are in first year. The University may not be the best for now, but trust me, it is getting there. We have great lecturers, very dedicated but there are still a few that just want to waste your time. don't worry, you will see!
you are taught romanian language from 1st year to 2nd year. you must pass the romnaian langugae exam b4 you get to the 3rd year. but don't worry, you would be fine. At least, I am lol.
I Just hope this helps!. If you have more questions, let me know! I would be glad to answer.

The best thing you can do is just to come in Constanta medical university IN PERSON with all the documents needed to admit...

Are you for a flat mate in Constanca? I'm already in the medical faculty, but so far leaving in a hotel, if you think we could rent an apartament togeher, let me know. +40 784 713 720 or e- mail: vivil_13 @ tlen . pl
