    Info on Romanian Universities

    Advertisements

    Hie. I'm interested to study medicine in Romania. I've heard it's a pretty good country in all aspects.
    > Can you tell me about it more, your experience perhaps.. and the people there, quality of education, etc..
    > Please tell me the tution fees respectively in these universities :
    Victor Babes' University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Timisoara
    'Ovidius' University of Constanta, Faculty of Medicine
    'Carol Davila' University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest
    'G.T Popa' University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iasi
    University of Oradea, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy
    University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Targu-Mures
    'Iuliu Hatieganu' University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca.

    (Am asking this cuz' different websites are showing different costs..Like for Victor babes, one site showed me around 3200 euros.. & the other 4000)..

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Right now, the fees are something like this:

    Cluj and Iasi = 5,000 for everyone
    Bucharest = 5,000 for europeans, 3,600 for non-europeans
    Timisoara = 3,200 (maybe 4,000, you would have to check the official university site)
    Constanta = 3,600
    Oradea = ~2,000 for europeans, 3,168 for non-europeans

    There are rumors that Iasi and perhaps Cluj will raise to 6,000 or 7,000 euros.

    Thanx waltfw for the tution info. Yes, you're right I should check out Timisoara's Victor Babes site. But all my efforts seemed futile. I've visited it like a dozen times. The thing is they didn't provide any sort of details (tution, hostel, cost of living) on their site.
    If an ex-student or some user who has info about Timi, do provide me.. Thanks !

    I know this is the time of year for agents to come in this forum and market their university, but be realistic - Constanta is not the least expensive, not even close. Oradea is the least expensive, then Timisoara (unless it raised to 4,000 euros), THEN Constana at 3,600 euros, or 4,000 if they are increasing the fees as you claim they are. For non-Europeans, Bucharest is also 3,600 euros (European students will pay 5,000 euros there), and all of the universities that only teach in Romanian (e.g. Craiova, Sibiu, etc.) are 3,600 euros, for everybody.

    Unless you have some information that every university in Romania raising to 4,000+ euros, Constanta definitely won't be the least expensive.

    well i guess its u who is influencing in a very wrong direction to the ppl who are totally unknown bout romania n me stayin in romania for such a long time now i know all da details about this ... for a start i wud like to ask u to cross check ur information about the turion fees again personally coz i have been to these universities personally n thats how i have come to know the tution fees of these universities... students have transffered from oradea to constanta since the tution fees had increased to 5000euros n it was way too expensive n for all the transfer students comin to constanta now also they will b payin 3600 euros 4000 euros is the tution fees for the students who will b comin in 1st year ..n btw ur speakin xactly the opposite way instead for non EU citizens in bucharest the feesw si 5000 euros n for EU citizens is 3600 euors .. while in constanta the tution fees is the same for every1 weather u r a EU citizen or not .. its 1 n da same .... n if u just lookin at reducing the tution fees cost price by sayin that the uni whic teach in romanian r cheaper thats true but just to let all the international students know that if they want to study in that university they will need to do a 1 year language course b4 they start ... which according to me is pointless but any ways its every1s personal decision. so i still stick to ma point that constanta is the cheapest uni rite now infact not only in romania but in whole europe .. n thats y if u r so good in statistics u wud know why is there so much high number of international studetns admission every year .. so m not promoting any university just showing you the reality ...

    That's funny, because not only do I live in Oradea, I'm attending the university here and the tuition fees are nowhere close to 5,000 euros. They are approximately 2,000 euros for European students and just over 3,000 euros for non-Europeans. Secondly, regarding Carol Davila, according to the Rectorat's office the tuition fees are 3,600 euros for non-Europeans, the same as is published on the university website. So you've got your figures backwards there.

    Constanta's website is also saying 3,600 euros for their program, so I'm not sure where you get your 4,000 euro number from either.

    Frankly, as someone without a dog in this fight, I have to say that waltfw's arguments are infinitely superior here because:

    1) He actually uses proper English, and knows how to form complete sentences.
    2) He states his affiliation clearly.
    3) He does not claim victimhood status in his online moniker.

    Juuuust something I noticed. (I mean, aside from the fact that my school is too bloody expensive.)

    Well as u say its the same with me ... its not only i live in Constanta i m attending the university too .. and that's how i know about Constanta coz this tuition fees figures r no wer out yet ... and about oradea i don't know about the European students but the 5000 euros which i came to know is from some of the students who have transferred from oradea to Constanta and this is the reason they have given . and about carol davila u are talking on the basis of the website and m talking on the basis of what i spoke to the secretary there ... well u have been staying in oradea so u should know how frequently they update the websites here and also it wouldn't be updated now it wud b updated about all the tuition fees for sure by august ( as told to me by the secretary in Constanta and Bucharest) .....

    And thanks a lot for proving your yourself as you were proclaiming that this is the time of agents and thats why they will be here promoting their own university ... its quite visible now i guess for all of us who is promoting Oradea here now ... so here you get your kicked in your back there ... tc
