1. IMG (non caribbean grad) with year of graduation - 2011
2. USMLE scores - 204 (Step 1), 220 (Step 2), CS Passed first attempt, Step 3 complete
3. Observership for 3 months (pediatrics) in a university hospital and 2 months (pediatrics and IM) in a private clinic
4. US permanent resident.
I would like to match in pediatrics. I applied for around 150 PEDS and 50 FM in 2016 match. I got two interviews in PEDS and could not match into either of them. No interviews from FM.
What should I do to improve my chances for next year?
Is it worth tying pediatrics by doing some more clinical rotations/observerships in hospitals? Or should I start concentrating on FM assuming pediatrics will never be reachable for me?
Thanks in advance!
Not helping with my response here, but from what I understand, there is a cutoff at the 5 yr. mark from your graduation year. Next year you will have 6 yrs since you graduated...
Is this correct?
