    question about cs fail rokshana

    Advertisements

Hi there, I've got a ton of red flags in my application: 1.5years off to study for step & start rotations, failed Cs, needing visa, switched schools in between.

The rest I can handle but what's a good explanation for failed CS attempt? I went with the truth for my first couple of interviews, but looking at how to present the truth better for other interviews. Here's what happened:
I didn't take it seriously enough.

if that is your only failure and if you did reasonably well on your other steps, then you should at least match somewhere. Seems like you did well enough on your other steps if you went on a couple of interviews already.

You can add to the truth. Maybe you were told the wrong information, in addition with having a bad day and not preparing enough.

214/220 on my steps. Nothing spectacular.

well it does suck...and certainly doesn't help your case...but it sounds like you have gotten interviews so you did something right...and the truth is the way to go...but you can't just say i didn't take it seriously and leave it at that...because the next thought in your interviewer's mind will be well what else will you not take seriously...

you need to point out what you learned that allowed you to pass the second time around..being able to speak naturally during the interview will help.
