    Advertisements

hi, so i am an IMG, i dont graduate (finish all weeks of 72) til apr.2014 , i have done step1,2 both. but when i look at residency requirements they say i need to be ecfmg certified, now i cant get that till i graduate because they require a dipolma. so does this mean i cannot apply sep15th ?

It depends on the program. Some of them mean "ECFMG eligible," meaning you have done everything to this point. Some others, to try to keep foreign applicants from applying, actually require ECFMG certification. You will need to check with the programs that interest you directly to see which programs have which practical requirements. You should still be able to apply on the first day... but any programs that require actual certification in-hand are probably not likely to interview FMGs, anyway.

YouŽll need to decide that for yourself.

Firstly, if you do not invest the effort toward convincing the residency programs that you really want to be there, then you will sure as hell not stand out or make them want to hire you.

Secondly, if you have that much money to waste in applying to programs that will not even consider your application, please feel free to send some of that extra cash my way. I will promise to put it to good use!
