dude, chill out! Do you really expect an instant answer? And now you've posted ANOTHER thread with the same question only 15 minutes later -what a waste.

I don't really know much about it, but how about you try the Search function. Search for ACGME read the relevant threads. I'm sure you will find the answer there.

    Thanks anyways

First of all, I think your response was rude. Maybe you should "chill out." If it bothers you that people are re-posting than don't read the post.
Secondly, I already tried the search function. No luck.

Try any other intenet search engine and you should be able to find that ACGME = Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

I'll leave the rest up to you.

    Aloha,

    ACME

    Hi,

If I'm not mistaken ACGME is a council that accredits MD degree only program while AOA is for DO accreditations. Thus, if you are looking for MD program to qualify for certain state licensure, then this is where u should look to see if that program is MD or DO. For example, CA is very strict on the amount of DO programs you can do. They will not take any DO core rotations...of course there are certain expection to this rule. But hopefully u get the idea.

As far as why the other nine states not listed, I'm not sure why that is.

    ACGME

Sorry CuriousCat...here is a link for the ACGME website:

    http://www.acgme.org/adspublic/

You can click on a link to the left called "list of program by sponsor" then there will be a drop down menu where you can choose the State you're interested in, and then search their ACGME accredited residencies. By the way, foreign med students are strongly encouraged to only choose electives from the list of ACGME programs...

Have you used the FRIEDA search? Its really good too...here it is:

    http://www.ama-assn.org/vapp/freida/srch/

Hope you find these useful...keep them in your "favourites"!!
