to submit on Sep. 1st or not...

    Advertisements

    Hello,

So I am working on ERAS and I just had a question about LOR's. I have 2 letters of recommendation that are ready to go and already loaded in ERAS and I am waiting on the rest. My question is, should I still apply Sep. 1 with these 2 letters? I have already passed all my usmle exams (step 1 - 84, step 2 CK - 94, CS) and I am wondering if i will get interviews with only 2 letters and the rest of the letters coming in later next month (applying only to family med)

    Thanks for the help!

I would think you would be ok. Some advice though that was given to me was helpful. Look on the frieda website at the specific programs you are applying to. Most of them have the interview dates listed and if they are in late oct/nov I would think you could apply a little later than 9/1. hope that helps

it depends on the quality of the two letters you have and the quality of the third, but if they are equal......

    Submit.

submit on 9/1...some places will give you an interview based on what they get (esp if the LoRs you have are from FM) others will put you in the incomplete pile...important to let programs know when that letter uploads so they can take a look at you app.

why are your LoRs going to be so late?

    thanks

for all the help... well my 2 letters i have are from a psychiatrist and a pediatrician that i did clinical rotations with in canada... the others are from a family doc and an ortho surgery... do you think the fact that I have all my usmle steps done even before sep 1 would get me the interviews?

Turn it in on Sept 1st...if you wait the slots for interview spots will fill up. I turned in my stuff incomplete as far as not having my third LOR, and I received most of my interviews before my third LOR was submitted. I know some who waited to have everything in, and they missed out on a lot of interviews.
