    minimum score requirement

    Advertisements

    My:

    Step 1 - 87
    Step 2 - 88

all programs have a minimum score requirement. If some programs have a minimum score requirement of "90" on Step 1&2, would i even be considered or will I automatically be deleted during the screening process?? Has anyone gotten interviews at places where the program score requirement was higher than their own Step scores???

if a program has a filter set at a min score, then yes, you will be filtered out and the program will generally not see it. you can always call the program, talk to the RC and ask if there is anyway that she pull your app and give it to the PD (you will be surprised at how often this works).

The Mighty-Roks is, once again, correct. I had an incident at a hospital that I did not qualify for but I called the PC and asked if there was any way she could take a look at my qualifications aside from my scores. She did and told me that she would pass my app to PD. I did get an interview at that hospital.

first-not all programs havce min scores. there are different filters they can use one of which is min score, others are no fail attempts, no foreign schools, etc.

ideally call about a week before each interview day. many interview days have candidates that cancel and the PC has to scramble to fill it. once you make it be a standout in the interview and you have a shot.

I was a couple of points below some of the minimum scores for interviews and still got an interview despite their "filter" w/o calling anyone. But, I called up some programs who were more stingent on the requirements...just depends.

I has similar experiences to the above, was offered a couple interviews at places that stated they had cutoffs higher than my test scores. It's definitely best to try and call the coordinator to get in personal contact to have your app looked at, it's amazing what a little chit-chat can do for you.

You mean call PD and just ask him politely, but straigh-up to look at your Application??? From your experience what month would be the best month to call (Nov, Dec)???
