i have LORS from surgery, ob/gyn, and fp, unfortunately the IM program i did my rotation at wasn't very good, and i couldn't obtain an LOR from that department. unfortunately, i don't have time to do sub-i's before i apply to residency..........what kind of programs should i apply to? do i have a chance at university programs? i have future interest in either GI or cardio.
apply to as many programs as you can afford.....try the university programs but make sure you apply to those community programs that have a history of taking FMGs. You should have time to do some medicine electives before applying for the match, make sure to get LoRs from them to boost your chances.
like k_girl said, you should have a lot of time between now and the open of ERAS for 2010 match to get a sub-i in. In my interviews, they constantly asked about sub-i.. present a case from my sub-i, responsibilities, duties, etc.

i actually have no time, i am finishing my last core in july and then taking ck in august, so i thought eras opened up on september 1st? unfortunately, i am taking my IM subi's starting in november or so...........i think i might apply to FM as a backup....
i think you really need a letter of rec from the profession you're going into. there has to be someone where you did your IM core that can write you a letter. they don't have to be a rock star attending, any attending will do. also getting an A on that core will help, but not necessary to match. a letter though is very important.
