get a friend to read it and help you edit it.. it's not worth the money.. my friend paid this program at harvard to look over his and for insight for $100 bucks... they sent it back with maybe an added comma here and there, but it sucked big time... there was so much correction on it still and it made absolutely no sense...

Try Insider Medical Admissions by Dr. Michelle Finkel . The one that your friend used is probably essayedge, they are indeed from harvard but they are not mds. This woman in insidermedical is Dr. Finkel ( Michelle Finkel) , you can look her up on pubmed and on the internet, she is a young emergency medicine doctor who used to be on the resident selection com. in harvard. She is now working in California, and she trained in Stanford and Harvard. She is the best thing that has ever happened for anybody applying to residency. I only know her for about a week, this past sunday I wanted to meet my deadline for november first and I actually emailed her at insidermedical@gmail.com , it was seven oclock in the morning in california and she answered my email, and in 24 hours I had my personal statement edited by her 3 times. You can PM me if you want, or you can write to her and say Rechaim sent you. She is great, and because she used to interview candidates she knows exactly how to edit a PS. Hope this helps!

I used MedEdits: Medical School, Residency and Fellowship Editing. They are both MDs and editors -- two for the price of one. Anyway, they did a great job on my whole application. They made amazing suggestions and were speedy. I also know someone who used essayedge.com. They seemed to be happy. Good luck.

    editing service

I used Ivy Eyes Editing (on google), mucccch cheaper than the other services. It was worth it just to have someone else do the thinking and style overhaul The med school application process is intense enough already!!!!

I'd try and get a few friends to take a look at it before considering any services. They don't necessarily have to be from a medical background either! I'm familiar with the Harvard one in the past, but it's probably better for others to try and give their input for "free" rather than paying for those simple things that we sometimes overlook.

For example, getting friends to simply look for grammatical/punctuation type of errors out of the way first can cut time spent on services correcting that. Sometimes these companies make most of the $$ from formatting those things and then adding fees on top of that for other types of revisions.

If you're fortunate to have a friend working in law or from many of the undergraduate types of college majors (psych, philosophy, english, etc) people take for example, that's always helpful too! They have to write tons of papers and would have good experience.

Friends and colleagues who have a good knowledge of the residency application process are absolutely required to help in this process. I'd not advice relying on help from people who are not in the field. Of course, professional help from qualified and verified people can always be helpful, if you got the money
