Know any decent web sites for FMG friendly program lists?

    Advertisements

    Hi all,
Has anyone used the matcharesident.com? I am an FMG who is probably the worst residency applicant and I am ready to start any program in any state.
The matcharesident.com states that they can find me lots of programs (for example 74 in FP, 62 in IM, 45 in Psychiatry), which sounds unreal considering my credentials:

    FMG,
    US citizen,
    Step1 score 76 (4th attempt),
    Step2 CK score 78 (2tn attempt)
    Step2 CS passed (4th attempt)

I know there are many web sites that sell you lists of programs but which ones are real? I started to call the programs from FREIDA, but there are so many programs and so few are accepting applicants like me.
Any advice? Thanks in advance for all your help!

My friend bought a list from there... since I didn't pay, I wasn't going to ask him if I could use it (kinda shady on my part if I did I thought), but from what he tells me, he likes it... tells you if the hospital requires ecfmg certificate or not, how many re-takes they will accept and the minimum passing score...he told me from the list, those were the hospitals he applied to and that's it...

I dunno though..don't want you buying it and then not getting what you expected.. but it does tell you the programs most likely to accept you, that's a plus... atleast you wont be applying all over the place and wasting money...

    Good Luck

You can check number of programs at other sites to see if this is real:
residencyplace.com - you will see some of the programs along with the counts. I doubt that it accounts for 4th attempt - this is a very special situation.

The thing is though that some very competitive programs have very low formal requirements, like passing scores while inviting for an interview only guys in high 80's.

Thanks, Anatolyk! This is good to know - that some competitive programs have low requirements. So I will have to concentrate on finding out what programs are non- completitive and apply only for them. Any idea how do I do that? May be by looking at what kind of residents the programs currently have?
