    physical medicine and rehab

    Advertisements

Hi, Anyone know how competitive this field is for AUC fMG graduates. This Physiatry correct I am trying to find info about this but can't seem to defer between internal medcind first and then rehab or is this a specialty all its own. What can someone tell me. I have been on the Physiatry website and it seems that you need internal medicine first and then 1 year of physiatry and then felloship ie pain mangement. Is this the same as physical medicine and rehab. Please clarify Thanks

PM&R (Physiatry) has its own residency. You do a 1 year transition/preliminary, then do 3 years of PM&R.

AUC is a good school with a good track record. PM&R was usually pretty IMG friendly, but due to the fact it is a lifestyle specialty, it's going to get more competitive.

    Pmr ...

fairly competitive ....depends on your Personal statements and LOR's too ..if you do externship in that field it should help.. it not impossible for IMG's unlike ortho or derm .... most offer first year positions in the match some start only if you already did your first year elsewhere... if you like it you should apply widely that would be better ....

    pm&r

How does family practice with sports medicine or internal medicine withh sports medicine differ. Would these be more broad? Which would be better?
