I want to switch to an internal medicine program from family medicine. Is it possible to switch after december if a spot is available?

Do you mean apply to IM programs?
-Of course its possible all you have to do is pay ERAS and maybe write a new PS

    Do you mean switch residency?
-That is possible as well many, many people do it (I would say at least 5-10%), just reapply again. Of course unless you want to lose a year you mighht want to contact PD's first and see if they take you as a pgy2.

I'm currently in a Family Med. program and I want to switch to Internal Medicine. It would suck to have to reapply through eras and the match. Thanks for the info.
