Please give me some advice about my short height and usmle!

    Advertisements

Hi, i m 24yr. male graduate form pakistan. and have passed my usmle step 1 scoring 93. But now i m thinking to quit the idea of usmle because i have stared realising that i m not in a good position to get any residency at a height of 5' 2.5" where 99% of american men will be taller than me at this height. I m otherwise healthy normal man, not achondroplastic.
Can anyone give some advice that how much can i suffer and what should i do now? continue or quit?

Where on Earth did u get the idea that your height has ANYTHING to do with you wanting to be a doctor?????? If you really want to be in medicine you won't care about trivial things like your height. I think your USMLE scores and interview skills matter most at this time.

im sorry, but you are crazy to think that way.

This is something new and absurd. Dude your height has nothing to do with being a Doctor or even anything else!!! Not even in basketball, look at Spud and Mougsey. Being a Doctor is nothing physical really, it's ur heart and your will, and your knowledge and as long as you got that, you are fine. Don't ever be intimidated by anyone because of their height or of any physical nature, not even by your collegue standing next to you. The way I see it, If you are really determined to be a Doctor and if you got the heart for it, nothing else should ever matter to you!

just read in the paper that a guy from university-missouri med school graduated w/ honors, and guess what? wheelchair-bound. atv accident when he was like 13. he lowers the patients bed to his level is how he does it. i really cant belive your 5'2 and your complaing about how you match up to american men. think on this: just be glad your not going to be on welfare or below the poverty level like however many % of ppl in the us, if u want to talk about percentages. wow ungrateful ppl...
