Seldom do programs conduct interviews in December. Most interviews would have occured by then. But if that happens, then you must inform them of your reason for not attending the interview. You may try to ask for a phone interview at that time & hopefully they would grant you one. You could however contact all the programs that you hadn't hear from by November and inform them of the situation, hoping that they would look at your application sooner & make a decision before you leave the country. Some things are out of your control, just hope & pray that things work out your way.

thanks a lot billroth.so ur saying intervews are only held in november mainly?
please tell me is it ok that i will send my apllication by end septemeber or first week october.or is it too late? and that also only my step 1 and 2 scores. my CS result will come only in decemeber.
so please i would like to know what most people think. becos it is such an costly time consuming affair, if my chances are not so good, do you suggest me to try next year only for residency?
    i will appreciate truthfull replies.
    thanks a lot again

I did not say that interviews are only held in Nov. Most of them will take place in Oct & Nov though, after then the number starts to decrease dramatically by Dec & Jan.

The earlier you send in your application, the better chance you have of getting earlier interviews. Try to get it in as soon as ERAS lets you. If your scores in steps 1 & 2 are very good, then programs would usually grant interviews and await your CSA results. There are some that would only want ECFMG certified applicants at time of interviews (ask the programs that you'd be applying to if that is a requirement). If most programs give you the go-ahead on this, then apply. (You should apply because I think that you will get interviews, and maybe that one interview you get after Dec would be the one).

Worst case scenario.....you have your certificate in time for the scramble.
You will never know what may happen unless you take a chance. I still think you have a good chance of getting interviews in Dec. & Jan.
