    American University of London

    Advertisements

The degree mill, American University of London - http://www.americanuniversity.org.uk will finally be closing its doors.

"I am pleased to advise that we have just now concluded another case in the Highbury Corner Magistrates Court against the American University of London who operate up at Seven Sisters and offer degrees as a 'university' to students primarily recruited through their website. The case has been ongoing since 2003/2004. Dr A the controlling mind as the Director of the company. It was decided not to proceed against him in this instance but should the company continue to so operate we will institute proceedings against him in the near future.
The company therefore pleaded guilty to the Business Names Act and the Trade Descriptions Act today. They were fined 4750 (750 + 4000 resp) and ordered to pay costs to LBI of 5000. All costs and fine to be paid within 56 days. The court stated that the fine against the company needed to reflect their grave concern that the business was deceiving students into thinking they were getting a university degree when in effect they were paying their fees for a relatively valueless education.

    Any reference?

I think you forgot to quote the reference from the article you just posted.

    Is there any?

    Best regards,

    Max

Ah! So you had to have posted it somewhere else then, as I do remember the unique term "controlling mind". Rather a modest fine, wouldn't you say?

I haven't posted it elsewhere but the text in italic comes from a newspaper/press release somewhere so it is possible you saw it elsewhere.

You just posted hearsay, you are unable to quote the reference for verification. No matter how the fonts look, you are unable to substantiate your post.

You know what happens to graduate students when they try to pull something like this? They look like fools.

So far, your posting is unsubstantiated, no matter how bad the actor they are making reference to is.

It does not help your cause.

actually I throw away what I post but anyone interested in reading the case you can contact the court at

    http://www.libraries.islington.gov.u...3786/4237.html

State of Oregon has listed the school as a diploma mill.

Valuemd is not a university setting and we are not held to the standards of a unviersity. However, our job is to get out as much info as we can to each other to make good decisions and to look at issues. Your constant need to fight isn't helpful to your cause either.

    Az,

I just saw something wrong and pointed it out. You say "our job is to get out as much info as we can to each other to make good decisions and to look at issues." But those quotes MUST BE substantiated. We do not believe in blind faith.

If I like to fight inflated egos like yours is because I enjoy it and I do not believe anyone in this forum is untouchable.

If you want to quote something, do it responsibly.

You may wish to turn the tables as much as you can, you were wrong and you know it.
