White Coat, Mood Indigo Depression in Medical School

Medical students' fear that treatment for depression will jeopardize their careers may not be unfounded.

that many practicing physicians are afraid of being treated for depression and thereby revealing that they have the condition. But "if people don't know how to treat their own depression, it has a negative impact on how they treat patients.

I would not want to be treated by a doctor with clinical depression.

How about a doctor with cancer? Does the doctor's illness have a bearing on his ability?

Only thing I would object to would be a doctor with a communicable disease.

I have experience with people who are clinically depressed and logical thinking is not high on the priority list.

If you want to trust your health to a doctor who is so depressed they consider nihilism being somewhat optimistic, then it is your funeral (literally).

According to u. IS it okay to get treatment from doc who is hiding or not willing to take Rx for his/her clinical depression than one taking Rx for his/her symtom.

U must know which one will be more productive providing services to the public. if u really know pathophysiology behind depression, u won't talk.

I thought all docs are people too. they're just happen to be in the medical professional.

Mr. McGillGrad......I think you may have OCD.

If the description of OCD includes utilizing proper English grammar then I am guilty.

How can one maintain the illusion of intelligence when one cannot properly write the simplest language on the planet?
