    Executive Order 13489

    Advertisements

The first order of business O took care of on day one of his Presidency was to sign off on an Executive Order that states that only the records he chooses to be made public will be released.

    Any thoughts?

All the legal speak in that thing has my head spinning.
Did he revoke the executive order from 2001 that allowed the records to be made public?

To me, it seems that the executive order simply adds a loophole for the President to bypass full public disclosure.

It basically says that the National Archives must notify the current, upcoming, or former President, in advance, of any records they feel is important to release to the Public.

The President, or his team, then has the right to decide if they are to invoke "executive privilege" and keep the "archivist" from releasing the information to the public.

Basically, in layman's terms, this absolves BO from ever having to release his birth certificate or academic records to the public as long as he lives.

"as long as he lives"? How do you figure that? Is the presidency now a lifelong term?

Only one difference.....this mystery could be solved tonight if he'd SHARE HIS ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE. It'd take all of about 2 minutes to scan it and post it up on whitehouse.gov.

If anyone with half a brain cared about it and believed he wasn't born in the US: yup.
