GOP's Brown wins Mass. Senate seat in epic upset - Yahoo! News

I know everyone wants to say that this has nothing to do with the health care bill in congress, or BHO, but reality dictates otherwise.

Ok, this is the part where I say...I told you so! (not you Gumby) but the regular BO crowd. I stand by my prediction, the next congressional elections will be surprising, I am preparing for another 1994 turnaround. if the Democrats can't see the tendencies, NJ, etc, then they need a new optometrist.

the shift has nothing to do w/ anything but advertising money and tactics, just like every election.
but remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or that "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that.

I was expecting that answer from you. Do you remember the 1994 elections?

It is sad that you really believe this win is based on advertising. What a terrible way to look at the clear victory of American politics above all else tonight, and the power of the vote.

It is based on the direction the country is headed - waaaaaay left. That is not the direction the majority of the country wants to go. This can be seen as a statement against having healthcare reform shoved down the throats of Americans, the continued wasteful spending (massive increase in deficit) etc.

Now O has a choice continue on the road he is currently taking, and face the probable consequences of dems losing lots of power... OR do what he said he would - run the country from the middle (helping the dems retain some power). The way I see it-it is pretty simple.

we will agree to disagree. i think that the GOP has decided to aggressively change the status quo and as a result have pushed hard in the media etc. look at all the nonsense that was being flooded out there about the healthcare reform! you ask the average American what they know about it and they won't be able to give you many correct facts, plain and simple.

the GOP is a dying party, its just a shame the Dems haven't taken advantage.

The GOP as we know it is dead. Conservatism is on the ascent! Today was a great moment in American history. The people of MASSACHUSETTS (one of the most liberal states in the Union) came out in droves to vote against tyranny and for liberty. TK will be replaced by a conservative. How's that for change?!

Do not misunderstand the gravity of this election. This was a de facto vote on BHO policy. Guess what, WE'RE AMERICA AND WE APPROVE THIS MESSAGE.
