    is anyone surprised at this???

    Advertisements

last night was rushed to a Dallas area hospital. he had attempted suicide by taking a large quantity (30+) of prescription pain killers. having seen his meltdowns in San Fransisco, and Philadelphia, as well as the mess that is this season, is anyone surprised at this?

histrionic personality at its best...or perhaps manic-depressive?

Just goes to show that money buys you stuff but doesn't buy you happiness.

I am glad he didn't die though...

Manic-depressive? Wow, where do I find that in DSM-IV-TR?

And he would have a borderline personality disorder most likely.

umm manic-depressive = bipolar disorder which i am sure is in DSM IV. apparently someone needs to study their psych!

Just checked the news, apparently there was a mistake when his publicist mistook his allergic reaction and empty pain medication containers as a suicide attempt. He said he had an allergic reaction between his supplements and the pain medication, but who can really be sure. Doesn't seem as though he would be the one to try to off himself. Although he's worth so much and has so much attention surrounding him, I actually think he likes it and uses it to his advantage. Plus, I don't think one little metacarpal would drive him to suicide.

if you knew his history and actions in detail you wouldn't be surprised at a suicide attempt...TO is an amazing football player but mentally unstable IMO. the police report was much, much different then his statement.

No, really... tell me the DSM code for "manic-depressive" ....

I'm familiar with Bipolar I, Bipolar II and the corresponding subclassifications.

Hardly. The police asked him a couple of questions while he was incoherent that he said yes to. The hospital released him less than 24 hours following the incident, and he was playing catch today with . None of this suggests to me that he took 35 Vicodin.

And which actions specifically suggest that he is "mentally unstable?"
