    Best Spyware Software?

    Advertisements

Does anyone know what is the best software used for getting rid spyware, malware, and viruses? They have over run my laptop and I have been trying very hard to clean it up, but with no luck.

Here is a list of programs I use:

    Windows Anti-Spyware
Symantec Anti Virus Corporate ed 10.0
    Ad-Aware SE
    Spy-Bot Search and Destroy
    Ashampoo Antispyware
    Panicware Pop-up Blocker

I use all of these programs regularly but it is no help at all. Any suggestions??

I use ad aware and spybot and they capture pretty much all of them. If you have a worm, then you will need to update spybot and go to the otions and have it run at startup so the worm cannot initialize.

Hey stookie, If you are being infected over and over again - you most likely have a trojan somewhere on your machine - All the products you have are ok but the virus stuff will not work on your machine well. I recommend trendmircro - on their website they have housecall. If your nmachine tries to prevent housecall from running - dude you have a trojan. They are hard to get rid of. However, if you go to your computer store - you can get it. Norton and McAfee are junk. They sold out out a long time ago and are ineffective most of the time now. They have sweetheart deals with stores and computer makers but really suck.

Reviews of the products you have

Here are an IT consultants view of these products:

    Windows Anti-Spyware - No use
Symantec Anti Virus Corporate ed 10.0 - worst one out there
Ad-Aware SE - Ok but does not stop anything
Spy-Bot Search and Destroy - best of breed and free
Ashampoo Antispyware - sucks big time
Panicware Pop-up Blocker - of no use - get latest version on monzilla

Best at stopping malware (gator) trojans and viruses - Trendmicro

my .02 - delete the others except spybot off your machine and install Trendmicro pc - I did for my children and have not had an infection since.
