Is anyone going for an interview in May?

    Advertisements

I called the administration office last week and they said that my letter for an interview is being mailed, has anyone else heard from their office concerning the May interview? I'm worried that I applied too late and most of the spots are filled up.

Also, I read that there are a total of 100 spots for the MD program; is that including 4yr and 6yr? I am applying for the 4yr MD program.

I've been given to understand by members of this forum that they don't start granting acceptances until all the interviews have been concluded. Don't worry overmuch, and try to ace the interview.

    P.S. Good luck

I was reading back on some earlier threads and it seems like the interviewers tell the students if they are recommended for admissions right after the interview. A lot of students seem to have received their official admission letter from the March interviews as well...

and thank you Glokta, I'll try

You're absolutely right. I'm sorry, I thought this was the Jag forum. Yeah, I had my interview back in March and they told me that I had 'scored perfectly', and that I was in. Just make sure you go through the interview threads and read up on the commonly asked questions, which are a joke compared to the MCAT.

Glokta, were you asked 15 questions verbally or was it a multiple choice test? I read something about a fifteen question test but wasn't sure if that applied to the 2011 4yr MD applicants.

There was no written test. Each of the interviewers asked me ~4-5 questions ranging from study habits to what I would do in a certain ethical quandary. They then asked me a series of amazingly simple science questions, like 'what is boyle's law?' or 'which segment of the nephron is responsible for pH balance, what role does ammonia play here, and where exactly is that ammonia formed?'
Joking about that last question . Seriously though, I ended up overthinking a couple of questions and provided too much detail...and they were staring at me and then started laughing...in a pleasant way. They were all really nice. They laughed at my lame jokes and were inquisitive about my relationships (not intrusively though) and interests. Most importantly, they told me right away that I was in. This was easily the second most easygoing interview I've ever had.

Were there four or more committee members? So that makes about 16-20 questions in 30 minutes? That sounds pretty rapid-fire! About how many science questions are you referring to here? Starting to stress!
