    measurement conversion help

    Advertisements

Does anyone have any hints on how to make converting measurements easier (ie; 140mEq/L x 100 ml/min = 20,160mEq/day, etc...), other than going back to 3rd grade?

    Thanks

TI 86 and above calculators have a great conversion chart:
You can't go wrong with that if you forget how to do your conversions.
I need to think about something...maybe you know what...

    Conversion ...

    140 mEq/L x 100 ml/ min
    = 140 mEq/L x 0.1L/min < -- 100 ml/min x 1L/1000 ml = 0.1 L/min
    = 14 mEq/min

    1 day = 24 hrs
    1 hr = 60 min

    1 day = 24 x 60 = 1440 min

    = 14mEq/min x 1440 min/day
    = 207 360 mEq/day

    I hope that make sense...
