    help, feel so lost...

    Advertisements

Hi, I just started pathology and i have no idea how to study for it. Should i use Robbins Pathologic Basis of Disease, Goljan Rapid Review Series or Goljan notes. Is the Goljan audio essential as I have a month to study it and i am still in school. How do I incorporate histology into this? What do I use for histology? Please answer as soon as possible. Thanxs

if you're studying for step 1, i think robbins is overkill - the pictures are good though. i recommend the goljan notes or his rapid review book. theyre both the same except that the rapid review book has pictures.

thank you for replying, just wondering is the pocket companion to robbins good enough? or is goljan rapid review better? can the goljan rapid review be just as effective without the audio?

i feel your pain....i got overwhelmed as well(still am).my stratedgy has been to listen to goljan fast(doubletime)once and follow with his printed notes.2nd reading is when you use his textbook RR with pics at a slower pace.
its extra work but i am just am average jane...
robbins is overkill and should be burnt..and i amtalking about all the versions of robbins.mom dad and baby.the only one worth anything is robbins review of path with >1000 questions and ans.i use that to test myself on each chapter.
    goodluck

Hey Medsurvivor - you can read the 36 page notes in about an hour or two. Takes me about four to six hours to read the 100 page notes. You can spend days on the Rapid Review and questions - it has the pictures (histology) and pathology together. I enjoy listening to the Dr G lectures. If you have a month left, you are going to be very busy. Divide your time up between listening to lectures, study & review and questions.
