can someone help with the following:

82 yr old Alzheimer's patient, hypernatremic, loss of appetite, excess sleep...what does this describe? this is just personal, not for the exam, which i am still putting off studying for even though it's in just three months and my retention from basic sciences could be poor since i just squeaked by in most of my classes.

alzheimer's patients start losing more and more of their independence, and ability to take care of themselves. perhaps, in addition to loss of appetite is dehydration, explaining the hypernatremia (looking for horses here, not zebras).

the excess sleep could be due to depression. the elderly are already at an increased risk for depression, but adding alzheimers to it only increases the risk of depression.
