    From the Article:

But the AUA president said if the situation is not rectified, students will get their money back.

I thought that there are plenty of options for prospective nursing students here in the US. I wonder what prompted these students to go offshore instead of perhaps applying out of state. They definitely would have been able to save a large amount of money and would have been eligible for federal loans.

I am also puzzled as to how those in charge of AUA nursing school could have missed something as important as accreditation by the country's board.

Really disturbing, broken promises, so all nursing graduates got worthless degrees from AUA ? can they obtain NP degrees or transfer to an accredited US School ?

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
If a degree is deemed "worthless" then you have to start all over again at an accredited school!
The only other option is to get a nursing license in the country where the degree was awarded. In this case, Antigua and Barbuda. Then one can apply to the CGFNS International
and get their credentials evaluated to see if they are eligible for the NCLEX-RN.

This incident brings up a major red flag to why anyone would go to a foreign nursing school in which the school's hosting country doesn't allow its own graduates to obtain licensure! The same holds true for medical schools or veterinary and pharmacy schools. Red flags!!!

As far as NP or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) route, you have to be licensed as a Registered Nurse and have a Bachelors degree in Nursing and 1 to 2 plus years experience before a graduate school will consider you. In the case of Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), 2 to 3 years experience in an ICU and a bachelor of science with 8 credits each of inorganic and organic chemistry.
NP programs are at least Master of Science programs and now many are Doctor of Nursing Practice programs.........an unaccredited associates degree in nursing from AUA wouldn't even come close....so answer to your question is no.
