Anyone have any questions reguarding this school, I'g be happy to answer. I was accepted, but elected to pursue studies at a osteopathic medical school instead. Any questions reguarding interviews, apps, etc. will be answered.

I'm a young one (19) Finished high school and college in three years (USC). Graduated with a 3.7 GPA in biology (with honors) and business administration. MCAT 27. Shadowed physician (osteopathic), volunteered in ER & ICU since high school, community service club, EMT, phlebotomist, NSF research fellowship @ Stanford and two research projects (published) for honors project.

Hope this helps. By the way, I applied to US MD school and got rejected from every one of them, including Howard, NYMC, Meharry, Morehouse......soe of the worst ones.

How did that happen?

I'm curious to know if the allopathic schools you applied to gave you any feedback on why you weren't accepted. It seems like you have a history of being motivated in the field of health care, in addition to a variety of experiences both clinical and reasearch oriented. I'd like to find out why you think you didn't get in. Perhaps this could help us who are on the quest for acceptance...Thanks

RCSI and Canadians
by undecided (no login)

I've been accepted by RCSI and I have a very short time to make a final decision. I'm Canadian and older (late 20's) and am wondering if it's a good move to go there. Why did you choose osteo instead? Were you worried about getting a residency after RCSI? That's the main reason I'm hesitating. My plan would be to go to RCSI and then do a residency in the States, but I don't know if that will still be an option when I graduate. Who should I talk to in the States regarding FMG's getting residencies? Who can help me answer this question? Your advice would be much appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon.

Questions about RCSI
by Phil (no login)

I have to send my application to RCSI this monday (2/14/99). Is there a better option for paying the application fee than a foreign bank draft ($25 service fee from bank boston).
I am also interested to find out how you liked the school. You studied there for at least five years then you had to do...? Before you could come and practice in USA.

I'm anxiously waiting for your reply.
