    undergraduate course requirements

    Advertisements

I had a question about undergrad course requirements in order to practice medicine. Do State Licensures require that certain course work must be taken at the undergrad level regardless of Medical School in order to be allowed to practice medicine. If this is the case do the pre med programs that are offered at Mua for example meet these requirements(it seems to me that they do not have as much science as would be required). I have been accepeted to mua for pre med and was cautious due to the fact that I only took one biology course in university ( I did fairly well in it) and might not have the requisits required in order to eventually gain a residency and hopefully eventually practice in the States. If they only require a degree (on top of the premed and med schooling) I would be fine but the sciences thing is concerning.

umm i applied to premed and i was to have 60 credits and my chemistrys arent considered either way when i go to do my premed i am going to have 79 credits because my chemistry credits arent considered so i have to do a few more courses, and you get 30 credits from MUA that are added to undergraduate work! So normally states want 60-90 credits

    Requirements

States vary somewhat, and if you PM me I will check into specific states for you (don't ask for all of them at once). As part of our ongoing development as a school I have someone going through all 50 states Medical Board requirements, and should be able to prioritize an analysis of states that you are wanting to practice in.

In general (and I'm sure I'm going to get jumped on for this)-- no one coming from MUA has ever been denied a license because of premedical credits that have come from MUA.

Now, if you have a specific concern about your transcript, please make sure that you talk with the Gardner office. You can also PM me and I will share what information I have with you.

    requirements

I am a canadian, and have completed my BSC from one of the universities here. I have also completed an engineering tech. program from a CC here.

If you combine both the CC and University, i meet the pre-med requirements. However, If you just consider BSC, I am missing a pre-med course e.g organic chem.

Where would I stand when it comes to licensing in the US or Canada. Thank you
