    2017 4YR Applicants

    Advertisements

    Hi Everyone,

Just wondering when the deadline for admission is for Sept. 2017 entry. I've been unable to find any information on the website in terms of application materials etc. so I'm assuming that the deadline is still far into the future.

Was just hoping to get last years deadline as a reference.

    Thanks

It seems like they've closed the 4-year program for future enrollment. Not sure if it's just temporary or permanent. I've sent them an email 2 weeks ago but havent heard anything back from them.

    Hey Brrr,

I emailed the school and got this message:

"Please be informed that the schedule and requirement for the 2017/2018 admission will be on our webpage in January/February 2017
Online registration is closed now, it will be open in March 2017.

Applicants whose native language is not English should provide one of the below English language certificates:
IELTS exam passed with no less than 6,0 points,
TOEFL exam passed with no less than 90 points,
    CEFR exam on B2 level,
TOEIC exam passed with no less than 700 points."

So there will be a 2017/18 cycle... The question I still have now is if the MCAT is required and what a valid MCAT would be. I took mine in Sept. 2013.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the info.
I'm guessing they are reviewing their admission requirement atm. Felt like there's no real cutoff MCAT scores, they just wanted you to sit the test and that is but who knows..

did GAMSAT 3 years ago, I'm a bit worried about this as well because most uni requires it to be less than 2 years.

    Hey,

    No worries.

Yes seems like they are... I hope that they don't have a cutoff date as most schools that I've seen say max. 5years. Fingers crossed!

I've emailed the school office so I will post their response here... It may take awhile though.

    Hey mani92,

I've been seeing your posts on other threads from years ago and they've been such a great resource, so thank you so much for your support and help!

On that note, I'm Australian and planning on applying to MUW this year and I would love to live/work in the UK straight after I graduate (all my extended family is over there and I love the place) so I think that entails I'd be doing my FY1 year in the UK. Do you know if that's possible/likely, for an Australian to graduate in a Polish university and complete my FY1 year in the UK? Would I need to sit other tests or is finding a vacancy/spot very tough as I am Australian?
Sorry I'm really confused with all the GMC accreditation and PLEB exams.

Also are you able to do the last 2 years/clinical rotations in the UK?

    Thanks so much!

Hiya! No worries there's a few of us from the programme that log on time to time! We know applying and moving can be a daunting process especially when it's a different country!

Right so, you'd have to sit the UKMLA (which replaces the PLAB from 2019, and all medical student outside of the U.K. will be required to pass this examination).

Currently if you held an EU passport you wouldn't have to sit the PLAB (some Aussies I know have polish passports and are planning to go England), but this will all change in 2019

Rotations wise im assuming you mean 3rd and 4th year! No unfortunately you've gotta do majority here in Warsaw! There's a programme (GHLO) which allows you to do certain rotations in another country for a little while, but England isn't currently on that list! You can however do a whole year abroad as Erasmus (again England not on this list)!

However you can do electives in England each summer if you want to gain some clinician exposure!

Hi there. I was thinking about applying to the 4-year MD program at WUM, but before I do, I wanna make sure I have a shot at getting in. In May, I'll be graduating from an ok uni in NYC with a BSc in Biochemistry (Honors program). My GPA is 3.7. I interned at a pharmaceutical company for 3 months and have one year of academic research experience under my belt. I took the MCAT and got an above average score. Mani 92, are my stats similar to yours when you applied? The only issue is that I'm a Polish citizen and I see that the website says I have to be a foreigner or a dual citizen of another country. Do you know of anyone who managed to circumvent this requirement?
