4 year MD program, MCAT score? American vs Asian program

    Advertisements

    Hi guys,

Do I have to do the MCAT to be able to do the American program, I am not from the US and I don't live there. The country am from does not provide this test.

I guess I am only left with the Asian 4 years program but is it GMC recognised or is it just designed for people who want to work in Asia?

Does anybody know if there's an entrance exam for the Asian or American program?

    Thank you

Asian program are mostly for students from Asia such as Taiwan (the majority), some THai, korean...etc. I dont know which country you are from, but if I were you, I would either choose European or American. American program, I think you have to go through Hope Medical institution (correct me if I am wrong), Asian you have to apply through the Asian agency. There is no entrance exam as far as I know.

I'm from Scandinavia, European program is 6 years. I am already a graduate I don't want to spend more time since I have probably studied 70% of the content in the 1st year of the 6-MD course. With the American program, don't I need to do the MCAT test?

Yes American program need MCAT but I would suggest you just to take it.
Also Americans program do get treat better when it comes to complaining, unlike Asian program students...the Dean usually ignore most of their problems.
I dont think the requirement of the score is that high, afterall these English taught programs are designed to dig money.
If not you can try looking at other polish universities.

    ahhh man!

I really don't have the time, money or ability to travel and do the test abroad. I think it's really unfair! I'll have to call them up and explain the situtation. I want to practice medicine in Europe and therefore can't do any programs that may not allow this. Thanks a lot dude!
