if you want a decent 6 year M.D. apply to Gdansk, not Lodz, Gdansk ;p ! although here yes, an exam is a must (written that is)

Gdansk seems like a great choice, unless you want 50-state approval in the US and USCE. For anyone else (i.e. someone not gunning for residency in the US), it would probably be among the better options in E-EU.

Lodz currently uses a skype interview for acceptance, plus your previous school grades/experiences.(for the 6 yr program) As the comments mention above, looking for US residencies, probably only Krakow is the best choice... But that is not to say students from Lodz are not getting residencies in the USA. Many fellow students received great placements. Soon there will be an "open-days" event for interested students to call and talk to current students here at Umed Lodz. Check the UMed Lodz site for dates and times. Good luck!

Gdansk does not have 50 state approval, but it has Direct Loans, and all of last year's applicants were matched into programs they applied for in the States. You cannot say go to Gdansk only if you're planning to work in the EEU. This is a perfectly good institution for the USMLE and MCQEE, although the option to work in California is currently restricted. The Polish division of the school is 50 state accredited, thus it shouldn't take too long to accredit the English. It is in the process.

I do not see any point in this thread where it has even been suggested that people can only work in E-EU from Gdansk. I said, rather, that Gdansk is among the better choices (of schools) in E-EU. The only thing that would make Jag (and now Warsaw) a better choice would be CMB approval and residency options in all 50 states. FWIW, I remain unconvinced that Poznan and Lublin are better programs, despite already having CMB.

At any rate, I would caution against getting too hasty with estimates about the timing of CMB approval... the process with California is NOT a fast one. It can take, quite literally, years. Having the native language program approved by CMB is the normal state of affairs, and it does not speed anything along. (That information is according to email correspondence with Ms. P-t P--k of the CMB.)

I am currently enrolled on the English program in the University of pharmacy and medicine in Craiova. It is taught fully in English from 1st till 6th year and is a public university recognized by all the EU and worldwide. the city is vibrant but small which makes it a great place to study.
I would recommend it to anyone.
