    Moving Money..

    Advertisements

With just over 7 days and counting until I get to Nevis I have gotten almost everything together. I have paid tuition, purchased books, I have to pack and get all the things on that suggestion list.

But, I am wondering how do I move my money? Is there a way that I can get some Eastern Caribbean dollars before I move? Do I get a caribbean based bank or a Canadian one because I am in FL we have a lot of Canadians and hens Canadian banks. Should I use one of those American Express travelers cards?

How do most of ya'll deal with your money?

While on the island, I used to use my ATM card from my bank back home. It would cost me some to use the card on Nevis, but I would usually withdraw enough to last me for 2 weeks. I think it's pointless to get a bank account on Nevis; especially since the only banks that you can open an account with do not have any ATMs near the school. The closest ATM machine is at the airport (10min from school).

Everybody have said thesame thing. Do not bother carrying money to nevis since you have access to your funds here in the United States. For the first two weeks you should bring with you about three to four hundred dollars, after which you should stick to your ATM card as other do. Banking they said is a pain over there. So use your judgement on this matter.
Keep the faith no matter what the turbulence may seem like. Tough times do not last but tough people do and have every reason to laugh at last.
