only part of the island has ADSL. the side that the school is on does not have ADSL. ive asked Cable and Wireless when we are going to get it on this side, but they dont know anything about it.

you can find out prices and specs on www.candw.kn

    Satellite on Belize campus

I'm a student at the Belize campus. We have a satellite link at the school which runs pretty good. The speed is not DSL but it's better than dialup and more reliable. If you want access outside of the school (though there is 24 hour access), you can go to one of four internet cafe/bar places close by. If you want it at your house, you will need to get a phone ($500 USD deposit but they are VERY good about giving it back). The Dial-up is $20 US per month for 10 hours and then you are charged for every minute after that. They will be coming out with a DSL line next month which is going to run about $200 US per month. What's great is that there are more and more landlords who are starting to put internet satellite dishes into their complexes to attrack more students. Cannot beat that!
If you have any other questions, just post them and I'll do my best to answer!

    Nevis Internet

    Hello again,
The MUA library has some 12 computers in the library. I was there as recently as March and in my opinion the service is incredibly inferior. Indeed, the twelve (12) computers are all tied into the same system. So, if you can imagine how slow one (1) computer on a 56K modem is I am sure you can imagine how challenging things are when 12 comptuers try to send and receive on the same modem.

However, most students seem to have there own internet accounts with Cable and Wireless and thid seems to do the trick ;-)
    CHEERS,
    Sully
