Usually no more than 4 or 5 days a week.

Seriously, it wasnt bad when I was there. The problem is, if it does go out, it seemed like it was always on exam week. But the dorms and the school have generators, so your usually okay.

Last semester it went out like 4 times (so once a month); usually doesn't last for more than 3 hours. Also for some reason, it only seems to go out in the evening (between 6 and midnight). Pretty weird.

    Hi,

How do people cope with the power outages, especially when they have to study?

    thanks

If you are worried about power outages, buy a coleman lamp to study with. The only outage we had this semester was only five minutes. The alternative is to live close to the dorms, where they have power generators.

Are you kidding me!? I noted the electricity go out about 3 times since Saturday. Lucky for us here at the dorms ( they have generators) I wonder what it would be like when I move to a rental house. I might have to bring a dozen of those Altar (church) candles.

I have'nt heard anybody here at the dorm complain abouth the blackouts affecting their studies.....so far.

If still in doubt about house lighting, bring with you a couple of flares. That should do.

    Blackouts

    Also,

Very important, to bring with you a good surge Protector/Voltage Regulator. You will know when there is a power outtage. you will notice Electrical surges. Either from the generators just kicking in or from the electricity surging back. You dont want to toast bread on your laptop turned toaster. Last Saturday, I though they replaced all the bulbs with halogen lights! Rawlins looked bright like a Christmas tree!!!
