    I Lack Patience Accepted 'o6 Now A Serious ???

    Advertisements

I've been accepted via the SABA / MUA conduit by Email for Jan '06.
However, rejected by Health X press, waiting on appeal.
    Rejected by Teri w/o cosignor.

I have a condo to sell to help finance my education and living expense.
That was to be ancillary funds for discretionary use; i.e. return trips to Hawaii I would sure like to attempt to set up an Affiliation Agreement with the local medical school so Caribbean students can do clinical rotations in a multi-ethnic cultural "soup" and become acquainted with disease processes with greater incidence to the subsets of the population.

But "no money, no honey". NOW THE SERIOUS QUESTION:
WHAT IS COST ESTIMATE PER SEMESTER? INCLUDE ALL EXPENSES INCLUDING DISCRETIONARY AND ESSENTIALS LIKE TUITION BOOKS ETC.
I REALLY NEED TO KNOW HOW LONG MONEY WILL LAST.
THE CLOSEST ANSWERS GETS A FREE LUNCH WHEN I VISIT THE ISLAND
IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. (NO KIDDING!!)

    AGAIN NO FOOLING:

Thanks for all of your encouragement; this forum is one of the most unique experiences of all of my life. It's like having 5,000 pen pals at any given moment in time.

    Aloha,

    Phil

    Realistic estimate.

First of all work towards clearing all the hurdles in your credit file which seems to be the biggest obstacle facing you at this moment. Based on some of the past discussions on the overall cost of attending MUA for Basic science and Clinical science component of the program, you are looking at roughly $116,000 to about $135,000 depending on how careful you are with your budget and whether you are coming on your own as opposed to those who arrive with their wife and children.

From all indications, cooking your own food rather than eating out frequently would help cut down on your expenses. Sharing appt with roommate will also ease the cost of rent and utilities. And above all knowing the locals they said helps a great deal because they would direct you to the best places where you can buy food cheap at the local markets. Take your time and ask more questions and look at the discussions on " Life and the cost of living at Nieves. It has a useful hint on this subject matter. Good luck in all your endeavors.
Keep the faith no matter what the turbulence may seem like. Tough times do not last but tough people do and have every reason to laugh at last.
