Is it true that MUA students have to take a school-administered exam called the Comprehensive Clinical Science Exam (CCSE) BEFORE being allowed to take STEP2?
This just seems like another way for the school to weed the students out. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes they do have to take the CCSE before taking Step 2.
The worst part, is that due to COVID, one can't schedule the CCSE.
Which means taking Step 2 is off the books for any current students until they clear up whether remote proctoring is possible.

Are you starting MUA for the Fall 2020 semester? You sound like a particular person who can't stop b*tching about the school and you haven't even started. If you don't like MUA, then don't go. Plain and simple. You're acting as if someone is forcing you to go there and in the same breathe saying things like "I'm so scared to fail (if this is indeed you)." JUST DON'T GO TO MUA! SIMPLE!
