Congratulations!!!!I plan on heading down there this Jan as well .I applied for student loans and they gave me just enough to cover tuition.Thankfully my parents are willing to cover the other costs so I am not visiting the bank (at this point) .I am from Canad- so all my information is based on the Canadian system.Where you you from ?

Holy another Canadian!! Congrats to you as well. Do you mind me asking which federal loan you applied. I am from Ontario and was trying to get a bank line of credit but they are very strict in international schools.

Canadians are populating Carribean schools , the government/ med schools should reconsider admission criterias lol.Anyways ,I used the Student Aid Alberta and there more giving compared to other provinces in Canada.I have a friend who is a current student at MUA and she had to get a loan because Ontario was not giving her enough. You can try applying for an out of province student loan.I am not quite about the terms of that transaction but I know itís possible. I visited a couple of banks and CIBC had the best deal, paying only the prime rate in interest when you use their money...but you would need a co-signer to get approval. There have been cases whereby Scotia has given out money without a co-signor, you can talk to their financial advisor and inquire as to what you need if you are having a hard time finding a co-signer. Prob give you les money ,itís better that nothing.
Contact the MUA financial office and talk to their ĎCanadianí team, they will have a lot of information.
