I will have to consider other schools. I spoke with someone in admissions and it was the person I interviewed with and they could not tell me anything. They said they can't tell me what else I could do, etc. and that the committee looks at everything and base it against other students. I have never heard of a school not being able to give advice or say anything about applicants who are denied. I am also from the Caribbean, so to me that's a slap in my face when majority of students are from the U.S. and know nothing about the island life. Oh well.

Keep your head high man. Don't think too much into what the school says. I don't attend MUA, but I was accepted in the past also and their admissions department can be rude. The director they had a few years ago was a really nice person, but now the lady with two online degree, things are not the same, especially now since the school is title iv entitled.

If you haven't already, apply to SGU, ROSS, AUC, and AUA. Even if you have to do MERP or a semester of some type of pre-med course, I say, do it. I know AUC and Ross both have a type of Merp program where you have to maintain a certain GPA and if you don't make it then your tuition is refunded and if you do then you start from med 1. So, if this is the field you want to pursue then go for it and don't let anyone stop you from reaching your goal. All the best!

    Hiya!

I totally get what you mean! I was pretty nervous, too, and the interview wasn't very long just about 20 minutes. I think you should be positive, the fact that you got an interview means they are interested in you and you have potential, don't be too hard on yourself!

I had my interview in July and heard back in a week about my acceptance. They didn't call, but I got an email with all the documents and a package in the mail about a week, or so, after the email.

I interviewed with Ms. Sara Russell! She was amazing and super nice on the phone.

When was your interview? Have you applied anywhere else? Was your interview long?

Omg Congratulations!! Very happy for you! I honestly didnt apply anywhere else, this was my number one choice only because I have a couple of people that went here and did well =)
And thank you for the encouraging words, I will try my best to be positive. I interviewed with Sarah as well, and she was an absolute sweet heart. She definitely did help me feel more relaxed and our interview lasted exactly an hour and 2 minutes. Lol. I asked her a bunch of questions in the end.

I interviewed a few days ago, hoping I hear something next week. Have you applied anywhere else? And will you be attending MUA in Jan?

    Thank you so much!
I'm glad to hear that you know a few people who went to MUA and are doing well! I don't actually know anyone who went there, but all the research I have done has been nothing but positive.
That's awesome!Haha, I love how you timed it so precisely! Did they ask you any questions regarding ethical response to situations or the "what would you do"?Mine was mostly, how will you adjust to the island and why do you want to be a doctor, who inspires you, who is your greatest support, etc.
Good call on asking questions in the end, when I was prepping for the interviews, the videos always said questions reflect interest. I'm sure you will hear back from them within a couple more day!
MUA was my first choice, as well, but I did apply to St. James, Saba and St. Matthews. To be very honest, I'm most likely going to go to MUA, starting Jan! It would be really nice to see you there and I really hope you get the acceptance!
