Hi everyone, hope everyone is fine, and i was wondering, i have an interiew with MUA on Tuesday. Can anyone tell me what kind fo question dot hey ask, rather than the obvious one, why do i want to become a doctor? And i was wondering what some of you guys said to why you want to become doctors?

hey annie, i just had my interview at 10am today. thanx 4 the luck! it went pretty well. she said i should know around dec 29th due to the holidays coming up. thanx 4 letting me abt the may '11 thread. i'll def. move onto that now. for the rest of u, i'll post my interview questions after i get back form work! thanx again every1!

Why do u want to be a doctor and what led u to this career path?
What are characteristics doctors must possess?
How have ur clinical experiences helped u?
Asked specifically abt my nursing home n research experiences.
What are ur weaknesses/strengths?
What will u do to be successful as a medical student?
Are u ready for island life?
How do u cope with stress?
She talked about clinical rotations and specialty areas that interest me.
She talked abt the island.
I asked like 4 questions.
She said she was going to highly recommend me (i hope so!).

Basically, this forum helped a lot. My interview was today n i prepAred for it just last nite. I think that helped bc i jotted down a list for the most common questions n they remained in my head today. I just scattered the lists all over the floor in case i needed to take a peak. Also, she said knowing ur weaknesses is a good thing bc then u can improve on that. Thats abt it. Gluck!

I just had my interview with Colleen. She is a really really nice and professional person. She basically said this was just a chat and not an interview and then on referred to our conversation as a "non-interview" to make me more comfortable.

She asked me:

1. The general progression of how I came to the decision of becoming a physician. (I explained everything in personal statement, so she just wanted me to reiterate, and fill in a few gaps)
2. What did I learn during clinical experience. (she wanted to know the most significant thing learned)
3. What my research was about
4. Strength
5. Weakness
6. What traits do I have that will make me a good doctor

She then went on to talk about clinicals, the island and adjusting to the island. She was so nice, friendly and helpful. Told me that I was in and will send the official document next week. Good luck to you all.

Interesting...she told you that you got in over the phone? That's something new to me.
