Three weeks to start school and kicked out!!

    Advertisements

Words can't describe my feelings right now. After applying and being accepted from May for the september 14 term, all my paper work which were required were sent in early. I also apply for Ed-invest late July fully expecting myself to be accepted, over time I am also in constant contact with the financial aid office. I purchase my flight tickets as well as my books, only to NOW receive a phone from Ed-invest saying my co-signer was not credit worthy. My co-signer has a credit score well above 700 and makes 6 figures, which is why I was so surprised of the decision. Now I am scrambling all my other options such as Davenport University, and won't even be sure that their will be enough time to start for september. I have tried contacting Ms. Rosa and the financial aid office but no answer AT ALL. Please if anyone can help me out in this situation, For 4 months I was preparing myself to head for MUA, only now to be told you can't attend the school just 3 weeks before the start of the semester. Does anyone know how Davenport does funding and if I can still have it before September rolls around? Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

Sorry that really sucks, honestly you might want to postpone it a few months and save up some money anyway. There are a LOT of hidden costs living down here in Nevis (not from the school, but just foreign living). I have spent WAY more money than i expected and I would not be able to do it just with Ed-Invest (which has denied me every semester after the first one anyway). I ended up borrowing from my parents.

What is the interest rate of Ed-Invest and how does that loan work?

Postpone it for the May 2015 semester and apply for Title IV funding. That's the best route to take - financially.
