Taxes and customs? Small tv, printer, etc.

    Advertisements

I plan on bringing somethings with me to make my stay in Nevis just a little more bearable. I was thinking of bringing a small TV and my PS3 for when I have some downtime. I was wondering if customs is going to give me any trouble. My buddy who went to St. Eustatius had to pay tax on his printer that he brought. I tried calling Nevis customs but couldn't get through to anyone. Anyone have any insight on the matter?

A few years ago, it would generally be sporadic. They generally wouldn't charge you for essentials, but maybe for things like bicycles, entertainment, etc. It's absurd that they would, considering you're about to spend a small fortune there. Great way to start a relationship. They would charge some people, and not others. We brought in everything to live for a family of four and they didn't charge us anything. Hopefully some more recent students will respond to you. Good luck.
