    California Update

    Advertisements

I'm sure I'm not the only one waiting for updates. Anyone have any insight?

Here's what I found on the MBC website

    Last board meeting: http://www.mbc.ca.gov/board/meetings...rterly-27c.pdf

http://www.mbc.ca.gov/board/meetings...pdf?date=Jul13 (Most recent meeting scheduled in a couple of days--status remains unchanged what exactly does Staff needs to review mean? MUA staff or MBC staff?)

It's time to do this thing!

Not sure what it means, but it seems promising for the future. Nice to see one more school getting on the cali list for all of us that want to practice in cali or in a state that uses the list.

What do the cross x and question mark ? mean the minutes.
Does a cross x means that the self assessment given by the school satisfactory?
I could 't find a key that explained to these markings on the tables.

Are the changes in Clinical Rotation grading system a result of the Cali Self assessment ?

Well California's committee is coming to visit Mua's Nevis site and clinical sites sometime in November. I am currently Med 3 now and have spoken to dean and ACCM accreditation body.

If MUA is anticipating a visit from the Cali Committee in November why is the newsletter not updated to include news letters from this year. ?After all the school has to show that all systems are updated and this is an important forum for student welfare as its an indication of a active/vibrant and efficient student community . I hope that news letter is updated ASAP

The whole approval process usually takes about 2 years or more start to finish. Ask the AUA kids, it took a LONG time. Inevitably they will want something fixed/changed which will happen and then another submission to the CMB then another review and finally they will put together a report either recommending or not recommending approval which will then have to be voted on at a quarterly meeting sometime in the future of that. Good luck in the process but rest assured I wouldn't expect any final approvals this year.

What is UHSA? Thanks I hope that everything go through. Our first time pass rate on step have been over 85 percent for the last couple of years so hopefully we will also receive title IV loans too.

The MUA website states that the USMLE Step1 pass rate is 90%+ a has been saying so ever since it changed its website in 2010 , so which one is true? 90%+ or 85% ?
