My fiancee is going to apply to MUA and hopefully go in January and I had some questions on things you cant find online. I was wondering how much things would be like cheeses, beef, chicken, eggs, rice ect.? Also ill be bringing my pets with me. What brands of dog food and cat food do they sell? And if anyone has brought there pets over what paper work is needed and how do you get it?

    Hi,

    Try these sites http://www.aphis.usda.gov/regulation...oads/sc_cn.pdf
    and Frequently Asked Questions

As for food, its true it is much more than in the US or Canada, rough pricing: ground beef, $3.50 a pound, ribeye (when they have it) $15.50, Boneless/skinless chix breast, (huge) 1full breast can be over 2 pounds, 4.00, Cheese varies, depending what type, packaged shreaded would be 4.50, deli sliced (from a real deli) with ham, chix, turkey, beef, and the like would be 6-11 a pound. Eggs are 4.50 a dozen, not sure on rice don't buy it.

Pet foods, there are canned from alpo and other less name brands, for the cat there is fancy feast small cans and another brand, for dry brands there are purina, meowmix, and a few generic brands. for the dog dry food, you can get that at the "supply office" $31 for 50#, at the grocery store that would be 50 or more for a 25# bag.

Yes things are more expensive here, with import duties, value added tax (VAT) and shipping, you can figure 58% more than the US price on most things. It the price you have to pay for being on a tropical island paradise
