    Spoke with California Med Board..

    Advertisements

So I talked to a really nice lady at the C.M.B. who handles Applications for foreign med schools. She told me MUA has officially applied and will take about 1-2 yrs to jump thru all the hoops.
And after being down here at the school for a week now I'm confidant MUA will get Cali approval soon.

That's not accurate...I asked the lady if the approval is retroactive. She said she couldn't say, but as an example Saba was approved in 2004 and students who attended from 2002 on are allowed to practice in Cali.

it is unusual for retroactive approval...AUA did not get it and AFAIK saba is the only school to have gotten retroactive approval...

no one should go to any school thinking that approval will happen...if cali is important to a student, then they should go to an already cali approved school.

Derm on Mars is a tough future match, nice future going. Even FM on Saturn is getting to be pretty future cutthroat these future days.

Interesting to know that MUA has actually applied and that its an official form C.M.B. that has confirms this. No one at MUA in the recent past has said that the school applied for C.M.B. approval. Maybe the application has something to do with AUA's C. M. B. approval and doesn't want to be left behind.
MUA is very likely to get CMB approval on the same basis as SABA as MUA mirrors SABA as a true sister school with many Faculty and Admin people in MUA who were on SABAs staff at the time of SABA getting C.M.B. approval.

This is good news...... Hopefully we can get an approval with some form of retroactive quote. Let's all hope that other schools won't lobby against our C.M.B approval.

Check your sources Rok. AUA did in fact get retroactive approval. I can't remember what year of the top of my head..I want to say it was 2-3 years before AUA gained California approval.
