DO NOT bring money orders to NEVIS

    Advertisements

Scotia Bank in NEVIS won't accept money orders, bank drafts, or certified personal checks. Students who do their banking at other island banks have had the same response.
They treat it like a regular personal check and hold it for two months.
If your coming to the island you're better off bringing some US cash and then set up wire transfers.
    Good luck

FYI, i dont think BofA charges an ATM fee when using Scotiabanks ATM. Double check bc they might charge a foreign transaction fee. Thank Heavens Im not Canadian, but if i were unfortunate to be one, i would probably open a Scotia account before coming to the island. Any Canada's have pointers if Scotia in canada is same as this one?
