    a question about books

I noticed that in the student handbook there is at least two or three books requried for each class.. Is it really a must to get all these books or would one of the requried books be enough?

Which books to get for Med I

I am currently in clinical and left Nevis in April. I recommend getting the "Developing Human Clinically Oriented Embryology" by Moore for Embryo; "Basic Histology" by Jungueira for Histology and if you need help to read slide, get Wheater's color atlas also. Being a previous TA in anatomy, I highly recommend getting Moore's Clinical Oriented Anatomy, Netter's Atlas for Human anatomy and BRS's anatomy. Grants dissector can be shared by your dissection group, so long as there is one or two copies in the group. All these books are available in the library, but you don't want ot rely on it, since if you are living in the dorm, it is not very practical to rely on the library. Most people will tell you study from the Powerpoint note and forget about reading textbooks, I disagree unless all you aim for is a pass. Using the Powerpoint and lectures as the guideline and reading the textbooks is the way to learn your basic sciences. Good luck.
