I'm looking as well. Where will you depart from? Does that price include return trip as well?

    where are you flying from?

sometimes booking a separate flight to st. maartin, then to nevis or st. kitts could be cheaper; however, you will have to pay twice for extra bags.

You can always fly into Kitts & then take the ferry over, which is lil cheaper then flying directly to Nevis. Not many flights come into Nevis. Flights into Kitts are bit cheaper, & theres less chance of losing bags (if u come thru MIA compared to St Marteen).

    Hey,
Where are you coming down from? I heard that WestJet is having a promotional sale on tickets to I believe St. Maarten for under $300, and a flight from St. Maarten to Nevis will cost $98..you'd be saving a whole bunch. Jump on the WestJet website and see if the promotion is still going on!

    hopes this helps

    US Airways

    Hey,

I just booked a one way from St. Maarten to Toronto for $200US with taxes. So try booking through US Airways. The flight from Maarten to Nevis is about $110 with taxes via Winair. If it's your first time coming make sure you fly Winair into Nevis, it's too much of a hassle to arrive in Kitts with all your luggage and take a taxi, then the ferry etc. You'll be completely exhausted.

However, with Winair, you are only allowed one 50 pound bag, so make sure you factor in the extra $60US for any additional bags. But I believe US Airways has a deal with Winair, so try checking their site for flight from where you live to Nevis. Do it soon, price will only rise - trust me I know first hand. I have only got a last minute deal once in my numerous semester here!

that bag restrictions are a good point. make sure you weight your bags!! When I came down some people didn't bother and ended up paying hundreds extra!

Liat even weighs you carry on and will charge you extra if it is above 15 pounds, or whatever their restriction is. Winair might do the same thing. Read the bag restritions from the airlines you are travelling with.

    Hi,
I'll be going to jan sem mua soon for the first time and I was hoping if you can help me with some information. What is the cheapest price for the flight (return trip). Also, could you explain to me about the luggage limits etc? I'll be traveling alone so what is the limit for the numbers of bags and total weight of luggage and weight/bag etc? I'll be flying alone for first time so would appreciate this help.. thanks.

Do diff flights have different luggage specifications? if winair has 50pound limit, then how do i bring more luggage with me ..thanks

Ok, this is a common question, and has been answered many times over. So here we go,

We can not tell you how much a ticket will cost, you will need to do that research via the internet, using sites like travelocity, Expedia, American Airlines, US air ways, ect.

From the US, there are several gateway city's, NY and Miami to name a few, that fly directly to St Kitts, SKB airport code. From St. Kitts you will catch a ferry to Nevis, with new students there will be a person representing the school, (provided you notify the school of your arrival information) to get you moving to the ferry dock, and give you any information you need. The cost of a taxi from the airport to the ferry dock cost $10 US, and you can have up to 2-3 students in the same taxi for the same fare, might be more if you have a lot of luggage. The cost of ferry tickets, are about $10 US to Nevis. I takes about 1 hour, they leave from St. Kitts about every hour, up to 6pm on most days, some days later, google st kitts ferry, and you can find information for each ferry and day. Note: there is a car ferry called the Sea Bridge, that does not leave from the normal dock and will cost about $30+ US for cab fare. but does leave later than the others, if you get delayed arriving, it also arrives in Nevis closer to the school.

As for baggage all airlines have different rules, check the airlines website for pricing and weight limits. Most are now charging for any baggage, not just over the weight or quantity.

    Other options:

US to San Juan Puerto Rico, (SJU) there are a few AA flights to St. Kitts each day.

Arrival to St. Maarten/St. Martin (SMX) this airport has a lot of arriving flights, 2nd busiest in the Carribean flights from all over the world. You have 2 options fly small regional prop planes to either St. Kitts or Nevis, there is only 1 flight a day direct to Nevis around 7pm.

Antigua: There is 1 flight a day to Nevis on Lait Airlines, this option may cost more to get to Antigua, negating any savings on getting to Nevis.

IMO St. Kitts has the best arrival of flight from the US. Taking the ferry to Nevis is not that difficult. Remember you will not be the only one coming to Nevis from your in bound flight. Other new students, returning students, returning residents maybe on the same flight.

Also note that traveling to a warm place is a premium price for any airline, so they charge more that time of the year.

    Best advise is book early!

If you have more questions, or concerns, post them here or private message me.
